Hi, I'm Shivam Mishra

Founder of Thakur G

I was born and raised in Mumbai in a simple Brahmin family. Like many professionals, I spent more than a decade working in leading corporate organizations, where I gained valuable experience in business, finance, systems, and building sustainable organizations.

Yet, despite my corporate journey, I always felt deeply connected to my roots.

As a child, I loved spending time with animals, especially cows. One of my most cherished memories is watching my grandmother patiently prepare ghee at home. She would spend hours making it using traditional methods, and soon the entire house would be filled with its rich, comforting aroma.

To me, that wasn't just ghee.

It was love, tradition, purity, and family.

Those memories stayed with me throughout my life.

A Journey That Changed Everything

Years later, while working in the corporate world, I began searching for genuine Desi Cow Ghee for my own family.

To my surprise, I discovered that while many people had heard of the Gir cow, very few even knew that India is home to dozens of other remarkable indigenous cattle breeds.

Curiosity soon turned into a journey.

I travelled across different parts of India and met small dairy farmers who wake up before sunrise every single day to care for their indigenous cows. Many of them are quietly preserving rare native breeds despite limited resources and countless challenges.

These farmers continue to produce authentic Bilona Ghee using traditional methods passed down through generations.

However, most of them have little access to customers beyond their local communities.

Meeting these farmers deeply moved me.

I realized that while India possesses one of the richest indigenous cattle heritages in the world, the stories of these native breeds—and the families protecting them—are slowly fading away.

The Birth of Thakur G

That realization became the inspiration behind Thakur G.

Our vision is simple yet ambitious.

We aspire to build India's first platform dedicated to authentic Desi Cow Ghee made from every indigenous cattle breed of the country.

Not just four or five well-known breeds.

Our mission is to represent more than 50 native Indian cow breeds, each carrying its own history, geography, and unique heritage.
